No experience with Amazon, but I had a lot of success with eBay...because there are always insane people like me who bid obsessively over books. Even textbooks.
I'd never heard of selling books on Amazon until a guy that works for me started selling all of his old college books. He has sold about three in the last month. He makes okay money - I think he said they keep like $10, but his books are a bit expensive. On Monday, I'll ask for some examples. It works pretty well, he just gets an email and then sends out the book.
really? i might have to check out that avenue as well. I even have some textbooks to get rid of.
that would be awesome dewitte! please let me know, because i'd really like to figure out how it works exactly. :)
He just showed it to me. You go to Amazon.com and then set up a "seller's account", then from that screen you can add your items. For books, it locates the ISBN# and then tells you how much amazon is selling it for. It also has this cool screen that finds the prices other people are selling it for so you can adjust your price to better match (or beat) theirs. When a person buys a book, you get an email and Amazon adds a bit for shipping, like $3.99. Then the money goes to this amazon account where you can transfer it to your checking account. As far as how much Amazon keeps, he says they keep about $6 for a $45 book (but add $3.99). He didn't have a specific example handy. It looks neat, and is a good way to get rid of books. It even has a "print packing slip" button so you can prep it and send it out.
hmm, cool. i think i might have to work on that for a while this weekend.
